Should I buy this laptop? I’ve already have a good desktop, but I’m looking for a small but good laptop to play around with in the house. Is this a good deal?
Well I thank you so far! Im looking at spending around $600.00 to 800.00 dollars. Does anyone know of a good laptop in that price range? What type of specifications should I look for, like how much memory etc.

Well, first the bad:

That processor is a little behind the times, and things may be a little slow for you, especially with only 256 MB of RAM. The screen is a little small for my tastes. So is the hard drive if you’ll be saving much multimedia — especially video. I’d want to have a CD burner or DVD burner, not just CD-ROM. And I don’t think I’d want a floppy drive at all, now.

Now for the good:

It’s a pretty good company for laptops (though I personally would prefer IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad for reliability and customer support). And the price is very good!

So, bottom line: I think it’s ok if you’ll just be doing light web surfing, getting e-mail, using word processing, etc. But if you’ll be using it three or more hours a day, or you want to do much with multimedia, play any 3D games or have this laptop for five years and be able to run the latest applications all that time, I’d say spend a little more and get something else.

I wouldn’t worry about the blemishes or wear; the insides are probably fine.

Hope that helps.
