Laptop to Big Screen TV?

Is there a cable that I can get to connect my laptop to an RCA (A/V) plug on my Big Screen TV? USB preferred, serial is also an option.

I don’t think either USB cable or serial cable could do the job. It depends on what type of jacks/ports does your laptop have to connect to external display.
If your laptop do have the Composite (RCA) jack, then you would be able to connect it directly to the tv using the RCA cable.
If it has the S-Video port, then you can connect it to the tv using the RCA-SVideo cable .
If both the tv and the laptop have VGA port, then you could connect both of them using the VGA cable.
If both your tv and laptop have the HDMI port, then you could connect both of them using the HDMI cable.
